Think about the last 10 financial decisions you made from a new-to-you business (products or services): Out of those 10, how many did you make because of the people and the visual representation of the brand behind the product or service?
My guess is it’s a pretty significant percentage.
And how did you form your opinions about that brand, it’s products and/or services? Their photographs!
According to MDV Advertising 60% of consumers say they’re more like to consider or contact a business that has an image show up in local search results.
I don’t know about you but I don’t want to be one to miss out on those opportunities; and having the best images showing up in local search, social media, anywhere online can only do your business good.
What is Brand Photography Exactly?
Branding photography is those images that go beyond head shots to convey your brand values, UVP (unique value proposition) and give your audience a look behind the scenes at how your business runs. The quality of your brand images also tells your audience directly about the pride you take in your brand and indirectly about the pride you take in your customer service and/or products.
What works? Think images with feeling, emotion, relatability, fun; images that stop your audience in their scroll and pique their interests!
Think images of you with your clients performing services, you working at your desk, answering the phone, taking notes, sipping on a cup of coffee (or tea if that’s your thing), out and about visiting clients on site – all the visual pieces that make up your day-to-day business. These are all part of brand photography, but there are thousands of other images we can capture.
First Impressions are Lasting Impressions
People will form an opinion of your brand in the first seconds and in order for that opinion to be a good one you need to have good quality images.
Professional brand photography offers consistency and quality that you can’t achieve on your own. A branding shoot can give you a professional edge over your competitors.
Visibility, Credibility, Profitibility
When you have high quality, professional images that you are proud of you will share them.
“The formula for success is 2% talent, 8% luck, and 90% of showing up every day” ~ Jeffrey Fry
One of the key foundations of business success is visibility – which leads to to credibility – which leads to to profitability. Sharing those beautiful images that you are proud of is an important step towards growing your business.
Do you currently have images that you’re proud to share, and if so, do you have enough to share an image every single day?
Level Up
The impact that the consistency and quality of professional brand images can have on any business is massive. Once you begin sharing your images you will see higher engagement on your social media channels, you will notice more happening around those images.
After investing in your business in this way, you will definitely see your brand level-up.
The Oh Tilly Core Pillars of Content (shhhh, it’s a trade secret)
What images does my brand need to showcase to my audience that I can solve their problems? A great place to start is with Tilly, at the beginning of our project together we will discuss your goals, your target market, your ideal client and how you solve their problems. Utilising the Oh Tilly Core Pillars of Content, we will create a strategy that includes a shot list, what you will wear, where we will take the images and what will be in each image. If you share these images, your audience will be able to see, visually, what it is that you do and what sets you apart from your competitors. This is why no two brands should have the same branding images.
So, do you think you need branding photography?
Let’s recap:
- First impressions are lasting impressions. Use your personal brand photography to give the right impression first time, every time.
- Visibility, Credibility, Profitability. You’ve heard of know, like, trust right? This is the same, but it speaks to how your business can become profitable. Use your brand images to create profitability.
- Level Up. Quality, professional images set you apart from other brands that don’t invest in their visual representation online. This sets the tone for your client’s experience. If you care about this, then you are more likely to care about them.
- The Oh Tilly Core Pillars of Content. When combined, these core pillars help your audience to understand everything you do, why you do it and how you do it diffrently to anyone else. Helping your people to find you, fall in love and become your clients.
